Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Xarothi ("Xarothi", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Xarothi for Teachers mobile application (the "App"), the partner app that lets tutors receive student requests, run sessions, and withdraw their earnings.

This policy is specific to Xarothi for Teachers. Other Xarothi products (such as Xarothi Super Coach and Xarothi Super Prep) may have their own policies.

Xarothi for Teachers is operated from India. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run the tutor/partner service.

a) Information you provide

  • Account details — your name and mobile phone number (used for OTP-based login). Email address is optional.
  • Tutor profile — the information you add so students and parents can find and evaluate you: bio/story, qualifications, subjects and classes you teach, rates, availability, service areas, and any teaching samples you upload.
  • Profile photo — an optional picture you choose to upload.
  • Identity verification (KYC) documents — a photo of a government ID and related documents you submit so we can verify you before you receive student requests. These are used solely for verification and stored securely.
  • Payout details — the UPI ID or bank account information you add so we can pay your earnings to you.
  • Session and earnings data — the requests you accept or decline, sessions you conduct and mark complete, notes you keep on your students, and your earnings and withdrawal history.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Location — with your permission, we use your device's location to set your home/service area so nearby students and parents can find you, and to help you share your current location. You can decline this; the App remains usable.
  • Device and diagnostic information — device type, operating system, app version, and a push-notification token, used to deliver notifications and keep the App working reliably.

We do not collect passwords or social-media login credentials.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and log you in via OTP.
  • Verify your identity before you can receive student requests.
  • Show your profile to students/parents and match you with nearby requests.
  • Deliver incoming requests, session reminders, and account notifications (via in-app alerts, push notifications, and/or WhatsApp).
  • Calculate your earnings and process your withdrawals to your payout method.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the App, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as needed to provide the service:

  • With students and parents — your public tutor profile (name, photo, bio, subjects, classes, rating, and service area) is shown so they can choose you, and the contact/session details needed to deliver a booked session are shared with the matched student or parent.
  • With service providers (sub-processors) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations:
    • Payment / payout providers — to transfer your earnings to you
    • Fast2SMS — OTP delivery by SMS
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — secure storage of uploaded photos and documents
    • Expo / Apple Push Notification service / Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery
    • WhatsApp (Meta) — request and account notifications, where applicable
    • Cloud hosting / database providers — to host our servers and database
  • For legal reasons — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Xarothi, our users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations (for example, payout and tax records). When you delete your account (see Section 6), we remove or de-identify your personal data, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls on stored documents. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access / correction — you can view and update most profile information in the App.
  • Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time directly in the App: Profile → Delete account. Deletion frees your mobile number for fresh registration. You may also request deletion by email (see Section 8), and we will process it within 30 days.   • Location permission — you can enable or disable location access in your device settings at any time.
  • Notifications — you can turn off push notifications in your device settings.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
